Merrick-Moore’s Media Center operates on a partial fixed, partial flexible schedule. All teachers may schedule time in the media center and with the media coordinators that corresponds to the instructional needs of their students. Entire classes, small groups, or individuals can be booked into the Media Center for a variety of purposes including research, information and technology skills, special projects, reading, check-out and presentations. On projects, teachers, the technology facilitator and the media coordinator work collaboratively to plan and implement appropriate instruction.
Hours are 8:30 - 3:30 Monday - Friday. Open circulation for all students occurs Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 9:00. Ms. Wilkinson is in a second grade classrooms for 30 minutes each morning as Literacy Support.
Ms. Wilkinson also works with fifth grade students to produce a weekly news broadcast, Tiger News, which airs on Friday mornings in the school.
